The Film

Story

After their oldest brother went missing, Anne, who dreams of reuniting the family, and her brother Kieren, whose stoicism makes him want to look forward, both will have to declare their missing brother legally dead if they want to help save their family's butcher's, which was once his brother’s home too.

The film’s approach is rooted in the long-term effect a disappearance can have on a family, and in the tension between holding onto someone and being forced by circumstance to move forward.

Director’s Notes / Guillermo Yáñez

The seed of this story comes from the experience of my mother’s family and how they dealt with the disappearance of my uncle, from when it happened in the 1970s until now. Family dynamics are something that interests me, especially between siblings.
